  1. Actually, “less is more” comes, ‘more or less’ from “Occam’s razor,” or the work of William of Occam (1290-1349), a pupil of Duns Scotus and one of the first philosphers to insist on the separation of Church and State, very much in modern terms, in fact.
    What he said, apparenty (for I am quoting here form a philosphy book) is along the lines of “It is vain to do with more what can be done with fewer.” This was his way of saying that it was foolish to construct endless hypotheses where the simplest form of statement addressed the issue adequately.
    And with that in mind, I’ll call it quits right here.
